How I CEO My Life

Hermione shares her ultimate daily habits that you too can adopt to thrive and become the CEO of your own life.

It has taken me years to get to a place where I can juggle what matters in my life in a manageable way. I work long days at JSHealth and I also work hard to be a present wife, an available friend, a good daughter, sister and step Mum and, amongst it all, try to find time for myself, my growth and my spiritual journey. I have read countless self help books and sought out what feels like every motivational quote the internet has to offer. After a long period of waking up with the '5AM club', I now try to incorporate the most important habits into my day in a balanced and boundaried way that also allows for rest. Your priorities may be different to mine so use this as a check list that you can choose from and take away the items that interest you, to build your own CEO lifestyle. 



Lumie Light | no phones in the room, just a lumie light that gently awakes you with a sunrise over 30 minutes.


Meditation | 10-20 minute meditation, usually guided for me using one of my favourite Apps including Chopra, Headway, Insight Timer.


Affirmations | I record my affirmations quarterly to my ThinkUp App and listen to them on my way to get coffee.


Time for myself | For me, that's getting coffee in the morning or having a bath, on a weekend.


Healthy Breakfast | Fuel your body with something fresh and colourful, first thing in the morning, to get your digestion going and feed your brain.


Take your Supplements | JSHealth, of course! I take my supplements mid morning, after I've eaten.



Water | Drink lots of water! I try to drink 2-3L/day, minimum. It flushes your system and is my number one health hack.


Focus | Focus on the task at hand. Drown out the noise, turn off your phone and email and do one thing at a time, methodically. If you don't do it right the first time, make time to do it right later.


Prioritise | Do the hardest thing first. I write a to do list every morning and tick off the thing I am dreading the most, first. You'll thank yourself later and it removes 'dread' from your day.


Remove Fear | Procrastinating? Face it front on. What are you afraid of? What's holding you back? Write it down, work it out and get it done. 


Move | Move your body and get your steps in. 


Connection | Check in with someone you love every day. Tell that person you're thinking of them. Write a thank you card. I use technology every day to connect with someone, close or around the world, that I love. 


Work | You spend more time at work than anywhere else. Work somewhere you love, with people you love. Life is too short to hate your work. 


Say No | Be boundaried. If you really don't want to do it, don't. 'No' is the most powerful word in the dictionary. Use it. Invest in people and projects you care about. 



Cook | I find cooking meditative. Cooking has been proven to support your immune system and reduce the risk of illnesses. Buying local produce and getting creative is such a great way to switch off after a long day at work, and be present doing something wholesome for you and your family. 


Journal | I am a self confessed journaling addict! I have been writing since I was a child and you will find journals scattered all over our house. Pick up a pen and let your heart and your mind pour onto the page. For me, some days that might just be a list of gratitude and a list of things to do the next day (to clear my mind for sleep). Other days it might be pages and pages of my deepest thoughts and desires. Just let the pen flow, you'll be amazed by what appears. 


Gratitude | Gratitude has been proven to transform your life and is proven to make you feel more alive, be more compassionate and kind and even support your immune system. Write down what you're grateful for, as often as you can, to encourage even more beauty into your life. It can be big or small, it doesn't matter. Start with being thankful just to be here. 


Wind Down | You know the drill! Find your personal 'wind down' routine to encourage a good nights sleep. This might include: 

  • No technology for 1-2 hours before bed
  • Lavender mist on your pillow
  • Candles rather than bright lights
  • Lumie light sunset
  • Take your JSHealth PM+ and Magnesium 
  • Journal and get it all off your mind
  • Listen to guided sleep meditations
  • Invest in good mattresses & pillows - you should be spending 7-8 hours on them per night for years! It's a very worthy investment.

Read | 20 pages per day amounts to about 36 books per year! Start small, start where you can and you'll be compounding your knowledge bank fast. 



No Phone Zone | Take time away from technology to allow your creative juices to flow. Ideas will suddenly arrive, I promise. Make sure you have a notebook on hand. 


Treatments | I indulge in massage, acupuncture & reflexology treatments, as well as beauty treatments like nail appointments. They make you feel good and you deserve to feel good! 


Rest | If you don't find time to rest, your body will. It's critical you allow yourself cheat days and sleep ins. Read: Why we sleep and find time to let your body recover.
